Lourenço de Azevedo

For 28 years, I lived with a chronic health condition that kept me disconnected from my own potential. Chi Kung and sustainable nutrition brought me back to life. Since 1998, I’ve dedicated myself to helping others access this same regenerative power.
I was one of the pioneers introducing Chi Kung to Portugal, teaching in government institutions, private organizations, and training centers across Europe. I co-founded the Therapeutic Chi Kung Course at the Higher School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and created the Regenerar methodology—a systematic approach to personal vitality that integrates seasonal alignment, internal strengthening practices, and sustainable living.
Since 1998, I’ve worked with students from young children to elders and trained Chi Kung instructors throughout Portugal and Europe, creating structured training that addresses the tension between personal regeneration and service to others.
I’m the author of Regenerar (Marcador, 2017) and have been writing about sustainable practice since 2008 at regenerar.pt. My courses span from 21-day seasonal programs to three-year instructor certifications, all designed around one core principle: practice must be portable, adaptable, and serve you wherever you are in life.
What I teach isn’t “Eastern” or “Western” wisdom—it’s human wisdom, rooted in our DNA long before we drew borders on maps. My work helps instructors and practitioners build sustainable practices that honor both personal regeneration and their mission in the world, because teaching Chi Kung requires more than knowing the forms—it requires knowing how to live what you teach.
I live near Braga with my family, where we explore daily what it means to integrate movement, seasonal nutrition, and nature into a sustainable life
